It was our last week on the Burgundy Canal before returning to the Nivernais and we had the fun of an Adventure Charter. We dodged some pretty impressive stormy weather to try our hands at horse riding, canoeing (the canoeists could be heard whooping through the Armancon valley!) as well, of course, as our traditional energetic activities such as Chablis wine tasting!

Our lovely guests were here for a family get together and in celebration of a particular landmark birthday for Jaye, who was leading the party. A special celebratory dinner in Jaye's honour was organised and what a fantastic evening of laughter and joy it was with contributions from all the family. Happy '21st', Jaye!

It was everybody's first canal cruise and we hope not their last.There was a move to stage a sit-in at the end of the week and refuse to leave! Even if everyone did reluctantly decide they perhaps did need to get back to real life, we hope to see them back some day.

And so back to our old hunting ground next week - the Nivernais Canal. We have missed you!
