28th April - 4th May 2024
This week we welcomed passengers from far flung places around the world: America, Australia and New Zealand. We also welcomed back Carol, who last cruised with us, way back in October 2021, when the word ‘Covid’ was still so much a part of our daily lives and when one could definitely be considered brave for crossing the Atlantic to Paris. Hats off to you Carol! What a time that was.
Anyway, back to 2024! There was some interesting navigating to do for Captain Jim, assisted by the Luciole’s deckhand (or matelot as we say) Cailan. There were inches to spare beneath the bridge at Mailly-la-Ville, so much so, we clipped the Burgundy flag on the bow, that acts as our warning bell.
Captain Jim was certainly very happy to be back on our mooring in Auxerre and ready to enjoy his Captain’s Diner delicious filet of beef with passengers on Friday night. The stunning city feels like home to us crew, with our mooring beneath the mighty Cathedral St Etienne.
