The Luciole was moored in Auxerre for a week without passengers, giving the crew the opportunity to return to their land-based homes and spend time with family and friends.
For the Lileys, the break included a wedding celebration on Saturday. It was wonderful to see so many family members and friends enjoying Auxerre – a city with a skyline to dream about. Bathed in warm early-summer sunshine and glowing through the balmy evenings, it could not have been more beautiful. For many, it was their first visit to Burgundy; for others, a happy reconnection with a region they had enjoyed in years gone by.
By the end of the break, the crew returned refreshed and revived, ready for the busy weeks ahead. Luciole was prepared from bow to stern, with attention given to every detail, both inside and out.
