7th – 13th July 2024

A week of high activity on the Luciole and at Luciole’s HQ in the hills. True to say, another week of no passengers, but this was a week when the crew were busy painting, tidying and sorting. There were two days at Fontenille organising stock, in the house and the cellars. Tea, coffee and wine were drunk/ lunch and ice creams shared - but without doubt the highlight was the delicious home-made lemon cake from Sarah. Thank you wonderful crew for all the assistance and the laughs.

It was a busy week too, for celebrations in Auxerre. On the Thursday evening the Olympic Flame arrived to take a tour of the town. An exciting event to see. The Opening Ceremony really is round the corner now.

Saturday saw the celebrations for the 14th July. The firework display from the quay was magical, crew family and friends had front row seats for the ‘’spectacle’ on a theme of the Olympics. Fireworks and music filled the barmy evening sky matched only with the ‘Oohhs and Ahhs’ as the rockets and Catherine wheels, shot and spun high into the darkness. As always an Auxerre night to remember.
