10th – 16th September 2023
On Monday we cruised out of Auxerre past the attractive riverside village of Vaux with its impressive concrete bridge. The weather was hot in the afternoon at our mooring in Vincellles, so whilst Vincent took our passengers to Chablis for wine tasting, the crew took possibly the last opportunity of the season to swim. High jinks from Cailan and Alex, jumping from the saloon roof and even Penny dived from the Luciole bollard (in her usual swimming attire - her dress - no swimming costume to hand so the best alternative!).
Our mixed group of passengers came from far and wide, from Australia to America. A delightfully convivial group with keen bikers and walkers who explored the local villages and took the opportunity to see the annual display of the breath-taking carpet of cyclamen in the grounds of the Château of St Pallaye, the pink residence beside the canal. It really is a sight to behold.
Vincent begins a weeks holiday, so William drove to Paris to drop our passengers off. Have a lovely break Vincent!
