So here is a question – if you drop your iPhone into a lock – what are the chances that:
a) you get it back 24 hours later
b) it still works
On that infamous afternoon, when the phone slipped into the depths of the lock at St Maur, Becky thought her phone was lost forever. Imagine her surprise therefore, when presented with a wrapped birthday box. Captain Jim joked, as Becky unwrapped the gift, that it was a pump, to pump the water from the lock and find the phone. Imagine therefore, when other items were extracted from the box (packing, napkin etc) that there at the bottom was indeed the still working phone. The staggering surprise, the tears will not be forgotten. As Jim explained, driving to Auxerre to buy the fishing net to dredge the lock for the phone, took longer than actually finding the phone. What a hero! A week to remember for sure.
Chef Nicolas as ever, presented the most delicious food throughout the week. Our passengers marvelled at his creations, as do we the crew on a daily basis, a magician in the galley. Host Al’s creative skills were on full display, with the enchanting Captain’s Diner table décor.
