2nd – 8th July 2023
Passengers from America, England and France cruised from Clamecy – Auxerre. It was a summer week of blue sky with the occasional refreshing rain shower, that came out of nowhere and quickly passed over. Memo to self: think before you put up the sun umbrellas!
Captain Jim had plenty of company up on the wheelhouse. Jim makes steering the Luciole look so easy, it can come as a bit of a shock to others when they take the wheel to realise just how much concentration is required to keep the boat on a straight course down the canal – and to avoid swans who insist on swimming ahead of us.
John Liley joined the cruise for the week. Possibly his first cruise ever without working! He was over the moon to be presented with his favourite lunchtime buffet dish of sumptuous plump mussels, served in Aligoté wine, with a hint of coconut. Oh the joys of life!
