It is true to say that the weather was not terribly kind to us this week. After an exceedingly dry summer, it rained. Consequently we made a change to our itinerary that involved visiting the costume museum in Avallon, where we were treated to a tour of an old house, led by a lady in her eighties who proudly showed us French costume and memorabilia of times past. Delicious hot chocolate and coffee from the delightful Café Dame Jeanne sealed the morning as a great success.

The sun shone for a lovely last day of cruising into Clamecy – perfect to see the Chateau of Bazoches and enjoy Captain’s Diner on a starry night with our French, American and British passengers.
