The first week of the season saw some beautiful spring weather to be cruising up the canal. It’s been a dry winter so the river is calm. The first cruise is always special, after weeks of preparation the shackles are off, paint brushes put down and the work clothes are put away, in the bin.
We are quickly reminded why we are here and why we do this, as a crew member there’s no better moment, than sat on the back deck with a wonderful plate of food, enjoying the view of the river after a cruise, the laughter of passengers ebbing across the water.
