The Luciole had 3 captains on board this week, Fabrice and our own Francisco, but they were no match for John, a captain of sea craft, who swapped the waves for the canal with easy and dignity. Fabrice is with us for a few weeks and knows the Nivernais from a previous role on another hotel barge, Francisco is coming to the end of his ninth season on the Luciole. Much fun was had on the wheel house, in the sunshine. Our passengers are always welcome to up there to see the Nivernais from a different perspective.

Scrabble was played, Margaritas and Vodka Martinis were sipped and laughter was abundant in the September sunshine. The real outside world was abandoned for short while and the tranquility of the Nivernais relished by all.
