Bikes on board – well actually for this week they were off board - a lot!

Our keen and lean delightful charter group of cyclists biked up hill and down dale through the September sunshine and moody skies, exploring ‘France profonde’. Equipped with maps, water bottles and Dave’s chocolate Snicker bars they peddled miles and even snuck in an extra wine tasting in St Bris; the village known for its impressive underground tunnels. Punctual and impressive to the end – our trailblazers were always back at the best lock to jump aboard for lunch or an afternoon visit. Hats and bike helmets off to you all.

A steady stream of alternative pilots took to the wheel as we made our way to Auxerre. Some to steer, for others to take a Captain’s view of the surround, to see what it really is like and to understand that at times it really is necessary to lie back as we go under low bridges. Meanwhile at other bridges it was the opportunity to make a ‘pit stop’ and take on extra liquids, ‘green tea’ as one of our friends calls it, to others it is known as ‘beer’!

Will was guiding and driving with Vincent taking his well-earned weeks holiday. Then at the end of the week, he was also piloting for Captain Jim, who took a few days away to move to his new residence in Burgundy. Welcome to the best ‘departement’ Jim!

Happy days indeed – you really were a terrifically fabulous and memorable group. Thank you.
