Way back in the depths of December, the Chestnut Charter confirmed their Luciole cruise. I remember thinking what a lovely name and am happy to report the lovely name very much matched the lovely 3 generation family, who gathered together from far and wide.
Little children to very tall adults cruised on the Luciole and we provided the usual ‘clobber’ that goes with said littlies of bike seat, car seats, highchair and cot and Sarah our talented host even ran up a hand-made duvet cover. Hats off to you for travelling so far with your precious cargo.
Captain Jim had an extra helper with a second in command up on the wheelhouse. Olivia was duly presented with a her certificate. Meanwhile Cailan, our ever busy always at the ready matelot was there with his on point rope throwing at our evening moorings.
The sweeping fields of golden sunflowers are now few and far between. Instead, as the flowering season draws to a close, they bow their mighty ripening seedheads towards the soil, creating swathes of lime-coloured rows as the first hints of Autumn draw ever closer.
